HVAC licensing is administered by the State of Idaho:
Permits:
Mechanical permits are required anytime a mechanical appliance or system is installed, altered, enlarged, replaced, repaired, removed or converted, with few exceptions. This includes water heaters, fire places, furnaces and air conditioners. The code allows for emergency mechanical repairs and replacements prior to permit application, as long as a permit is applied for on the next working day. Inspections:
Greg McBride serves as the chief mechanical inspector for the City of Ammon. The mechanical codes prescribe three possible inspection times:
- Underground Inspection
- Rough-in Inspection
- Final Inspection
