Streets
The Streets Department is responsible for ensuring citizens have clean, safe streets to drive on. This involves maintenance, sweeping and snow removal.
Repair work is done as needed. Annual chip seal projects are done on a rotating basis, determined by conditions in various subdivisions and analysis of typical street life spans.
Sweeping is contracted and done in curb and gutter subdivisions. This is done in the spring and fall. Other sweeping projects are done as needed.
Sanding and snowplowing is done as needed. First priorities for plowing are the major roadways. Residential subdivisions are plowed as soon as weather and resources permit. At the time that streets are to be plowed, residents are required to remove all vehicles / trailers from the street. Residents are also required to retain snow on their property rather than moving it into the streets. In order to keep the streets clear, the cooperation of the residents is greatly appreciated.
