The City of Ammon is hiring two Lifeguard Supervisors for the City of Ammon Pool. These positions require a minimum of 3 years of lifeguarding experience and will be responsible for the following: Assist in hiring, training, supervising, orientation, and evaluating lifeguard staff. Create weekly work schedules and station rotation schedules for lifeguard staff and swim instructors. Watch the water and surrounding area to spot swimmers in distress and people acting unsafely. Assist in performing first aid according to the standards established by the American Red Cross and American Heart Association or equivalent. Ensure that all rules and regulations are adhered to by staff and patrons. Engage in basic lifeguard duties, such as checking and adding pool chemicals, cleaning the pool and restrooms, as required. Teach swim lessons. Other duties as assigned. Must have current CPR/first aid certification. Current American Red Cross (or equivalent) Lifeguard Training Certificate strongly preferred. Starting wage is $12.00/hr. The Ammon Pool is outdoors and is open June 1 – August 22. Lifeguard Supervisors will begin in April part time to assist with hiring the rest of the pool staff and perform other prep work for the season. The Ammon Fire Department is accepting applications for Resident Firefighters. The Resident Firefighter Program provides a unique opportunity as well as free room and living expenses. Residents are trained as Firefighter/EMTs and given the responsibilities of responding with fire apparatus to emergency scenes, EMS calls, and station detail duties. No prior training is needed to apply, but will be considered.
