City Council

The purpose of the City Council is to set and administer the budget. They set the spending parameters for water, sewer, sanitation, parks, and streets, using money from the general fund and from property taxes for a variety of projects. The City Council also acts as a legislative body, enacting new laws and ordinances and amending existing ones. Their approval is required for annexations, plats, and a variety of other projects, as well as business licenses and other site plans.
